Short Summary:
Mapbox is the leading real-time location platform, providing tools for navigation of people, packages, and vehicles. The Search Box team builds a premium geospatial search engine, integrating address geocoding and Point of Interest retrieval for various platforms.

Responsibilities:
- Architect and advance robust services optimizing API performance.
- Champion engineering excellence with rigorous code quality standards.
- Drive strategic decisions on technical architecture and scalability.
- Mentor the engineering team, fostering continuous learning.
- Design services quality metrics and analytics.
- Run experiments to evaluate product quality and capacity.
- Participate in end-to-end feature implementation and code reviews.
- Collaborate with business development to align product design with market needs.
- Engage with customers and suppliers in the automotive industry.

Requirement:
- 7+ years of experience in engineering web services in Rust or Typescript (Node.js).
- Experience building highly-available API services in container-based environments (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes on AWS).
- Proficiency in monitoring instrumentation and incident resolution.
- Knowledge of operating and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to design long-term technical strategies.
- Experience in driving initiatives that improve engineering standards.
- Interest in solving geo-spatial problems.
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.
