Short Summary:
The Partner Tech Applied Science team at Zalando is looking for a Senior Applied Scientist to enhance their demand forecast engine, collaborating with various stakeholders to improve business performance through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, prototype, and productionize state-of-the-art demand forecast solutions.
- Communicate technical problems and results effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Own the entire development cycle of algorithms from opportunity discovery to production.
- Iteratively improve models and explore new data sources and problem structuring.
- Build model pipelines and streamline analysis processes using programming tools.
- Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.

Requirement:
- PhD in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, physics, operations research, etc.).
- 3+ years of industry experience in developing forecasting models.
- Deep knowledge of time series and machine learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
- Excellent communication skills and a self-starter mindset.
