Learn more about this agency Duties Help This position starts at a salary of $85,447.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $111,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10) The Public Affairs Specialist independently plans, drafts, and posts engaging content on CBP's official social media accounts, ensuring alignment with agency messaging. The specialist also conducts in-depth social media listening and analysis, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and improve CBP's social media approach. Typical duties include but not limited to : Independently planning, drafting, and publishing engaging content across official social media platforms to ensure alignment with agency messaging and enhance public understanding of CBP's mission, policies, and initiatives. Creating, producing, and editing high-quality digital content, including text, photography, video, and graphic design, while maintaining strict adherence to CBP brand guidelines. Conducting daily social media listening and data analysis to identify emerging trends, measure the effectiveness of outreach campaigns, and provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions. Collaborating with internal partners to address misinformation, manage potential issues, and present recommendations to management for strategic improvements to CBP's digital communication approach. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing or supporting social media content and campaigns across multiple digital platforms to communicate organizational messages to public audiences. Translating complex information, policies, programs, or initiatives into clear, concise, and engaging content for websites, social media, or other digital channels. Creating, editing, or coordinating digital content, such as written posts, graphics, photographs, video, animation, or other multimedia products, while following established brand or style guidelines. Monitoring social media activity, audience engagement, or web analytics to identify trends, measure content performance, and support improvements to digital outreach efforts. Assisting with responses to public inquiries, correcting inaccurate information, or recommending updates to social media or digital communication approaches based on audience feedback or performance data. Education Substitution: GS-11: You may substitute a Ph. D. or an equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L. L. M for the experience required at the GS-11 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours.
