Short Summary:
Competent Clinician with knowledge and skill to meet standards for professional nursing practice. Experienced in specialty area, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing safe and competent intraoperative patient care.
- Actively acquiring knowledge and skills specific to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Enforcing aseptic and sterile techniques in all aspects of patient care.
- Managing unexpected or emergency situations in assigned specialty population.
- Participating in surgical time outs and debriefing.
- Documenting accurately all surgical procedures, supplies, and implants.
- Supporting departmental initiatives related to patient safety and efficiency.
- Completing required specialty specific Competency Based Orientation (CBO) tools.
- Independently assessing patients and identifying nursing diagnoses/patient care needs.
- Delivering culturally, age, and specialty appropriate nursing care.
Requirement:
- Texas RN license.
- BLS required, ACLS preferred.
- ~2 years RN experience in OR/ICU/Cath Lab preferred.
- Perioperative competency and ability to manage intraoperative care and emergencies.
