Short Summary:
This is more than a traditional accounting role. At SRS, you'll apply accounting expertise in a specialized, client-facing captive insurance environment. As an Account Manager II, you will manage the financial and regulatory affairs of captive insurance clients, including risk retention groups, while taking on more complex accounts and expanding your review of junior team members' work.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly or quarterly journal entries and financial statements for client companies.
- Manage the financial and regulatory affairs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies, including risk retention groups.
- Take on more complicated accounts and expand review responsibilities for work completed by more junior staff.
- Assist with statutory financial accounting statements and NAIC reporting for risk retention groups and commercial insurance company clients.
- Prepare and file regulatory reports required by domicile regulators accurately and on time.
- Prepare and file premium and excise tax returns for captive clients, following applicable state, county, and local requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare board meeting materials and support client governance activities.
- Support client financial audits and regulatory examinations by collaborating with external auditors and regulators.
Requirement:
- Accounting degree required.
- 4-7 years of financial accounting experience.
- Comprehensive and current technical knowledge and practical experience in insurance accounting.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong client service skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven work style with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
