Short Summary:
Join Robinhood as an Assistant General Counsel to work with the regulatory and product counsel team, providing legal counsel on product launches and ongoing compliance in the cryptocurrency sector.
Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end counseling on retail cryptocurrency products and services.
- Respond to legal requests and coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
- Identify and assess legal and regulatory risks, finding creative ways to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise on legal developments related to cryptocurrency in Canada.
- Engage with Canadian securities regulators on compliance matters.
- Develop trusted relationships for launching new products and features.
- Act as a business partner and proactive product owner.
Requirement:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Membership in at least 1 Canadian province or territory bar.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in law firms, government agencies, or fintech companies.
- Experience with legal and regulatory requirements for crypto, securities, and money transmission.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
