Short Summary:
We are seeking a Public Safety Officer to perform a range of security duties including electronic surveillance and routine manual patrols to ensure the safety of the facility. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Access Control and Patrols: monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to deter theft, violence, or unsafe behavior
- Emergency Response: respond to emergency codes and assist with crowd control, evacuation, or containment as needed
- De-escalation and Conflict Management: intervene in disruptive situations using de-escalation techniques to calm agitated patients or visitors, often in collaboration with clinical staff
- Patient and Visitor Assistance: escort patients or visitors safely through the facility, provide directions, and assist with lost-and-found or personal property issues
- Incident Documentation: write detailed reports on incidents, accidents, or safety hazards and report findings to supervisors or risk management
Requirement:
- Experience in Healthcare security or related field preferred
- State Guard Certification Registration Card
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Facility Specific Requirements: State Driver’s license upon hire, Current DMV H6 report or Driving History Report
