Short Summary:
As Accounting Manager, you will lead the month-end close, oversee accounts payable, review account reconciliations, and support technical accounting matters. You will coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants, identify process improvements, and manage AP staff.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the month-end close process
- Develop understanding of AP processes and approve weekly payment runs
- Ensure timely entry of AP bills and review month-end accrued liability journal entries
- Partner with departments to track spend by project
- Minimize year-end audit cleanup through detailed monthly review of account reconciliations
- Serve as a subject matter expert for complex account balances
- Review month-over-month fluctuations and contribute to financial statement analysis
- Manage year-end audit and tax return processes with external auditor and tax consultant
- Own ad hoc projects and implement improvements for month-end close process
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statement preparation
- 3-10 years of progressive accounting experience; Big Four or large regional public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with cost accounting or general inventory accounting
- Ability to manage, coach, and develop accounting staff
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Experience with Acumatica ERP or other mid-market ERP system preferred
- CPA preferred
