Short Summary:
To deliver professional nursing care to patients at Parkway Surgery Center (PSC) and ensure that all duties assigned are done in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications
- Monitor patients
- Prepare patients
- Perform pre- and postoperative teachings with patients, family, and/or caregivers
- Document all pertinent messages or communication with patients in their charts
- Admit and prepare patients for surgery
- Assist physicians with treatment as needed
- Draw blood and obtain laboratory samples
- Monitor patients during the post-anesthesia period
- Provide patient education regarding routine and minor medical questions
- Complete all patient care documentation records
- Assist with scheduling and rescheduling patients for surgeries/procedures
- Count narcotics and check crash cart daily
Requirement:
- Current South Carolina RN licensure
- BCLS required (ACLS preferred or willing to obtain)
- Clinical competency in perioperative and PACU nursing
- Ability to perform patient assessment, medication administration, documentation, and basic life support tasks
