Short Summary:
As a Sr. Scoring Technician, you will ensure the accuracy and quality of home sleep study interpretations through expert manual review and scoring, contributing directly to high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual review and scoring of home sleep studies in accordance with AASM scoring guidelines and company protocols.
- Review automated scoring results and apply clinical judgment to validate and correct sleep staging, respiratory events, oxygen desaturations, arousals, and other clinically relevant data.
- Ensure scoring accuracy while consistently meeting productivity expectations in a high-volume workflow.
- Identify studies requiring physician review or clinical escalation based on established protocols.
- Maintain detailed documentation and quality standards throughout the scoring process.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews, calibration exercises, and ongoing scoring consistency initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical team members to support timely study completion and efficient workflow.
- Stay current with AASM scoring rule updates, industry best practices, and emerging sleep medicine standards.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirement:
- Current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist–Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS) credential required.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of sleep study scoring experience required.
- Strong knowledge of AASM scoring guidelines and sleep medicine principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to scoring accuracy and consistency.
- Proficiency with sleep scoring software and electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a remote clinical team.
