Short Summary:
At MotherDuck, we’re on a mission to make data warehousing fun and frictionless for developers and data practitioners. We're building a cloud-hosted version of DuckDB, working closely with the creators of the fastest-growing query engine.

Responsibilities:
- Own major projects in our dual execution stack for seamless query processing.
- Build a cloud platform that dynamically assigns resources for efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional work to maintain a coherent user experience.
- Push the state of the art in embedded database performance and DuckDB internals.
- Mentor teammates and improve engineering practices across the team.
- Collaborate with DuckDB Labs to align on APIs and future developments.

Requirement:
- Experience in building and shipping complex backend systems.
- Proficiency in a backend language like C++, Rust, or Java.
- Foundation in query engines, execution plans, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and low-latency distributed systems.
- Ability to scope and lead cross-functional projects.
- Comfortable mentoring peers and engaging with the wider community.
