Epic Cogito Database Administrator

Project description

We are seeking an experienced Epic Cogito Database Administrator to support Epic's analytics and database platforms. This hands-on role is responsible for administering SQL Server databases, supporting Clarity and Caboodle environments, managing ETL processes, optimizing database performance, and ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of healthcare data systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Epic SQL Server databases, including Clarity and Caboodle environments. Monitor database health, performance, storage, and system capacity to ensure high availability. Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot ETL processes, ensuring successful data loads and SLA compliance. Perform backup, restore, disaster recovery, and failover activities. Optimize SQL Server performance through indexing, query tuning, and database maintenance. Design, maintain, and support SSIS packages for automated data integration workflows. Maintain database security, patching, authentication, and compliance with healthcare security standards. Collaborate with application analysts, infrastructure teams, and report developers to support production environments. Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures. Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production environments.

Nice to have

Experience supporting large-scale healthcare organizations or multi-site environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik). Experience automating administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting. Exposure to Linux administration and VMware infrastructure. Experience working within ITIL or structured change management processes.
