Short Summary:
MetroStar is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a U.S. Air Force customer by administering, maintaining, and securing enterprise IT systems in a dynamic mission environment. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of an Air Force system hosted within an AWS Gov Cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of AWS-hosted Linux and Windows servers.
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including patch management and software updates.
- Harden servers and applications in accordance with DISA STIG requirements.
- Review vulnerability scan results and develop remediation plans.
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Maintain configuration management standards.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and interoperability issues.
- Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Create and update technical documentation and SOPs.
- Collaborate with Air Force stakeholders and technical teams.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or high school diploma + 7 years Linux system administration experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Linux enterprise IT systems.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator in an AWS environment.
- Hands-on experience supporting DoD or U.S. Air Force IT environments.
- Extensive experience hardening servers and applications in accordance with DISA STIGs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must meet DoD 8140 qualification requirements (e.g., Security + CE).
- Active Secret security clearance required.
