Short Summary:
The purpose of this classification is to supervise, plan, and coordinate construction, maintenance, and repair projects for County streets, storm drainage, water, and sewer facilities and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.
- Coordinates work activities; prioritizes and assigns daily work activities.
- Monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Prepares operational and statistical reports of projects and maintenance activities.
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department projects.
- Performs manual labor in support of construction, maintenance, and upkeep projects.
- Follows established safety procedures and utilizes safety equipment.
Requirement:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 5 years construction/repair/maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Valid Georgia Class B CDL required.
- Flagging certification required.
- Water distribution/collection license may be required.
