Short Summary:
At Formlabs, we’re building tools that enable anyone to bring their ideas to life through 3D printing technology. We are looking for a systems thinker to join our Hardware Engineering team as an R&D Print Process Engineering Intern.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and innovate new 3D printing techniques.
- Work across teams to implement improvements to current products.
- Evaluate current printer performance for areas of improvement.
- Design and execute experiments to inform software or hardware improvements.
- Tackle complex and open-ended problems across multiple engineering disciplines.
Requirement:
- Willingness to question assumptions and back it up with data.
- Ability to work autonomously on research.
- Experience with experiment design and data analysis.
- Understanding of programming and scientific computing, ideally Python or Matlab.
- Familiarity with mechanical design, mechatronics, CAD modeling, and hands-on prototyping.
- Previous work on a consumer product and developed physics-based models of complex systems.

Compensation:
The weekly pay range for this role is: $1,575—$1,950 USD. This is a salaried role based on a 40-hour work week.
