Short Summary:
At Flexport, we are building the unified Supply Chain Operating System for global trade. Our Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) work directly with enterprise clients to solve high-stakes supply chain challenges, connecting fragmented data and optimizing logistics through innovative technology.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to client sites to map end-to-end supply chain processes and audit legacy systems.
- Design and build production solutions including customer applications, internal tools, APIs, and workflow automations.
- Develop applied AI solutions and decision engines.
- Apply optimization algorithms to logistics challenges.
- Drive deployment sprints from discovery to live production.
- Collaborate with Flexport core Product and Platform Engineering teams.
- Validate code in live operational workflows and train users.
- Communicate technical trade-offs and outcomes to client leaders.
Requirement:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Operations Research, or Applied Mathematics.
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience in building and integrating AI/ML solutions.
- Strong skills in data architecture and API integrations.
- Passion for customer engagement and building trust with stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate complex data and operational dependencies.
- High autonomy and a track record of delivering impactful projects.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
