Short Summary:
We are looking for a sharp, hands-on Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and scale a hybrid team of Data Engineers and Data Analysts. The ideal candidate has experience as a Data Engineer and understands how data analysts consume data to drive business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a talented team of Data Engineers and Data Analysts.
- Technical Strategy & Architecture: Partner with engineering and product leaders to design and execute our data roadmap.
- Bridge the Gap: Act as the connective tissue between engineering and analytics, ensuring data quality and intuitive data modeling.
- Delivery & Execution: Own the delivery of data infrastructure projects and analytics initiatives.
- Hands-on Guidance: Dive into code reviews, unblock tricky SQL queries, or help architect complex data pipelines when needed.
Requirement:
- Technical Leadership: 1–3 years as a Technical Lead, Scrum Master, or Staff Engineer.
- Deep Individual Contributor (IC) Roots: 5–7 years of hands-on experience as an IC Data Engineer.
- Streaming & Ingestion Expertise: Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
- Analyst-Centric Mindset: Strong history of working closely with Data Analysts.
- Core Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, advanced SQL, and data orchestration tools.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
