Description
The VP of HR establishes the directions for the development and administration of the company’s Human Resources, guiding team leaders in conducting human resource activities in accordance with established company policies and procedures and governmental regulations. This position also provides direction to the Training and Safety Coordinator. This position works closely with Senior Leadership in the development and formulation of policies and procedures to meet short- and long-range goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in the human resource field required including five (5) years’ management/supervisory experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in planning, development and training required.

The VP of Human Resources establishes the directions for the development and administration of the company’s human resources, guiding team leaders in conducting human resource activities in accordance with established company policies and procedures and governmental regulations. This position works closely with Senior Leadership in the development and formulation of policies and procedures to meet short- and long-range goals and objectives.
Senior Leadership
- Champions teamwork, innovation and process improvement throughout the departments and provides the team with appropriate leadership, mentoring, guidance, and advocacy to ensure its long-term success.
- Collaborates with the other members of Senior Leadership to determine and develop the policies and goals in accordance with the direction of the organization.
- Reviews and approves plans for capital investments and resource allocation.
- Ensures that all corporate activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Creates, communicates and implements the organization’s vision, mission and overall direction.
- Formulates and implements the strategic plan that guides the direction of the business. Responsible for budget development and expense allocation.
- Maintains awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, and so forth.
- Prepares and delivers presentations and reports to the President, Senior Leadership and owners.
- Participates in human resource functions within the company including but not limited to selection, training, development and performance review of team members, making recommendations for promotions, transfers, discipline and salary increases.
Human Resources
- Serves as a strategic business leader in establishing and maintaining cohesive relationships between team members and DuraTech.
- Oversees payroll operations and provides guidance to ensure that payroll processes are consistent with company policies and comply with state and federal regulations/industry standards.
- Develops and directs DuraTech's wage and salary policies in order to attract and retain competent team members.
- Oversees the maintenance and evaluation of job descriptions in conjunction with the team leaders.
- Oversees recruitment and selection activities to ensure that properly qualified candidates are recruited, hired and on-boarded properly. Analyzes work force requirements, absenteeism, turnover and other personnel statistics.
- Represents DuraTech in unemployment compensation insurance matters.
- Oversees other Leave of Absence Programs.
- Assists the team leaders in human resource matters and provides guidance on matters of discipline and discharge to insure fair treatment and compliance with government regulations and company policy and procedures.
- Investigates internal complaints regarding discrimination, harassment, safety concerns, and other workplace conflicts.
Safety and Training
- Oversees DuraTech’s safety and training programs. Works closely with the Training and Safety Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and maintain DuraTech’s safety and training programs.
- Coordinates manager/supervisor training programs to ensure continued development of management skills to enable team leaders to fulfill their potential to be good department team leaders.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in the human resource field required including five (5) years’ management/supervisory experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in planning, development and training required.
