Position Overview

The Commercial Manager will run HR, Legal, Bids & Proposals and Finance for Airsphere. The ideal candidate will bring experience from the software industry and preferably exposure to the aviation sector, ensuring alignment with both technical and domain-specific requirements while driving commercial growth and operational excellence. 

The role reports directly to the Managing Director of Airsphere, acts as their strategic sparring partner and serves as the central interface to the parent group. 

What you will do

• 1. Bids & Proposals 
• Oversee preparation and submission of high-quality bids and proposals in line with the capabilities of our products and solutions 
• Develop and maintain a structured bid process with qualified content. 
• Implement tools to efficiently manage the bidding process.
• 2. Finance 
• Deal with commercial, financial and taxation matters 
• Work with external advisors and build up monthly financial reporting in line with dormakaba Group reporting guidelines (IFRS) 
• Drive medium-term planning and budgeting, as well as rolling forecast process  
• Support of strategic initiatives (e.g. ERP/S4Hana implementation, investments and liquidity planning, process optimizations, etc.) Creation and further development of KPI reports (e.g. Power BI) for corporate management  
• 3. HR 
• Run recruitment process for further growth of the company together with dormakaba HR team  
• Run performance management, employee relations and talent development to build and retain high-performing technical and operational teams. 
• Ensure employment law compliance
• 4. Legal
• Manage contractual matters with our clients for software licensing, SaaS agreements and supplier agreements. 
• Liaise with external or dormakaba legal advisors where necessary. 

What we require

• Several years of professional experiences in overall commercial responsibility, ideally as Commercial Manager, Head of Finance & Administration or in a  a comparable role. 
• Degree-level education in business management, industrial engineering, or a related field. 
• Experience in the software industry, ideally within organizations delivering software products, SaaS, or mission-critical applications. 
• Experience within the aviation industry (especially in airport or airline operations) is highly desirable. 
• Understanding of Finance, HR, Legal, IT and Bid management within technical complex environments. 
• Knowledge of quality management standards and software quality assurance. 
• Excellent commercial acumen, risk management, and negotiation skills. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities. 
• Highly organized, analytical and strategic mindset. 
• German and English fluent.
