Short Summary:
Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East, simplifying lives and creating impact. The role involves owning the design system that underpins every product experience across the super app, focusing on AI integration and design efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Own the lifecycle of Design System’s tokens, components, and patterns.
- Define and enforce standards for color, type, spacing, and interaction across platforms.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for cross-component consistency.
- Champion accessibility and manage the backlog with product and engineering partners.
- Structure tokens and components for AI-native design workflows.
- Build and maintain Code Connect mappings and structured component metadata.
- Implement AI-assisted audits and linting.
- Drive adoption and articulate the system’s value to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure technical feasibility of design patterns.

Requirement:
- 5+ years experience in product design, with at least 3 years in design systems at scale.
- Advanced knowledge of variables, token architecture, and component APIs.
- Experience building workflows with LLMs and agentic tools.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, and managing design token pipelines.
- Excellent English writing and presentation skills.
