Short Summary:
The Power Electronics Design Engineer is responsible for the electronic design of inverters and power electronic components for battery electric vehicles, working within a multicultural, multidisciplinary Technology & Innovation team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complete schematics and bills of materials (BOMs) for next-generation power electronic components.
- Review and approve electrical design requirements for power electronic components.
- Perform circuit design optimizations and implement innovative circuit concepts.
- Conduct comparative evaluations of various design concepts and electrical components.
- Develop optimized inverter designs in collaboration with Mechanical Engineers and System Architects.
- Perform electrical simulations of power electronic designs and collaborate closely with simulation engineers.
- Lead PCB layout activities by working closely with ECAD engineers.
- Organize and conduct schematic and layout reviews.
- Support prototype build activities in the prototype workshop.
- Perform functional hardware bench testing and design verification.
- Conduct technology scouting activities and contribute to future product and technology roadmaps.
Requirement:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering within the power electronics industry.
- Deep knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout processes, and industry-standard PCB design tools.
- Extensive experience in the design and application of power semiconductors (SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs).
- Proven experience in the development of high-voltage inverter systems.
- Strong knowledge of EMC-related design practices and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in MS Office, CAD tools, and simulation software.
- Fluency in both English and German.
