Short Summary:
As an Associate, you will be part of the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Execution team, supporting the governance and execution of the AFC/AML Compliance framework. You will ensure compliance cases are handled thoroughly and consistently, balancing regulatory requirements with customer and business impact.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Proof of Funds / Wealth (PoF/W), Transaction Monitoring (TxM) alerts, and PEP/Sanctions screening.
- Ensure controls in the PoF/W and TxM areas are applied consistently.
- Prepare high-quality case documentation, including supporting evidence and AML Officer case presentations.
- Make compliance decisions balancing regulatory requirements and financial crime risk.
- Contribute to reporting requirements for the Controls Report and AML Reports.
- Collaborate with first-line teams to manage escalations effectively.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirement:
- Proven experience as an AML Officer or in a similar financial crime compliance role, ideally within crypto, fintech, or banking.
- Confidence in exercising professional judgement and documenting decisions.
- ACAMS or similar qualification is desirable.
- Organized and comfortable in a high regulatory standards environment.
