As a Perioperative Nurse at AtlantiCare Surgery Center, you will be an integral part of the surgical team, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient journey. Your role will involve providing exceptional care and support to patients and their families across all three phases of surgery: pre-op, intra-op, and post-op. You will work closely with physicians, ensuring they have the necessary equipment and supplies, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Collaborate with the surgical team to prepare patients for surgery, including pre-operative assessments and education.
Assist in the operating room as needed, ensuring a sterile environment and providing support to the surgical team.
Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed, ensuring their safety and recovery.
Manage patient flow and prioritize cases, ensuring efficient utilization of surgical resources.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of patient care.
Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean surgical environment.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is required.
BLS certification is mandatory upon hire or transfer, with ACLS and PALS certifications required for specific specialties.
Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing schedules are essential.
Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment with frequent interruptions and a high level of noise.
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and quick walking.
Commitment to providing quality customer service and a patient-centric approach.
Willingness to participate in performance improvement efforts and continuous learning.
