Short Summary:
Apex is seeking a Field Engineer to support infrastructure projects, acting as a bridge between design and construction, ensuring accurate implementation of plans while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a site representative to verify construction aligns with design plans and specifications
- Maintain detailed notes and measurements for record documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, in-office engineers, contractors, and subcontractors
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for constructability and accuracy
- Monitor project progress, track quantities, and provide regular field reports and updates
- Perform submittal reviews and complete construction administration paperwork
- Prepare record drawings for as-built infrastructure using AutoCAD
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues or design discrepancies
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Assist with cost tracking, scheduling updates, and change order documentation
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, plans, and specifications
- Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and/or similar tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying site conditions and travel to project locations
- Valid driver’s license with good driving history
- Previous experience in construction, consulting, or field engineering is a plus
- EIT certification or working toward licensure is preferred
- Experience with public-sector infrastructure projects is preferred
