Short Summary:
The Cat Pricing team at AG Insurance is responsible for evaluating and pricing catastrophe risk within Property reinsurance portfolios. This internship offers hands-on exposure to catastrophe modelling and pricing in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support catastrophe pricing analyses, especially during renewal periods
- Assist in the pricing of catastrophe-exposed reinsurance treaties
- Run and interpret catastrophe models (e.g., vendor models such as RMS, AIR)
- Perform data extraction, validation, and portfolio preparation for modelling
- Analyze catastrophe exposure data and contribute to risk assessments
- Support internal reporting and contribute to market and industry analyses
- Collaborate closely with cat pricing actuaries, underwriters, and risk teams
Requirement:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance (or similar)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Good command of Excel; experience with Python, R, or SQL is a strong plus
- Interest in catastrophe modelling and reinsurance pricing
- Familiarity with catastrophe models or geospatial data is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Stress-resistant and comfortable working with tight deadlines
- Clear and structured communication skills
- Proactive mindset and strong willingness to learn
- Fluent English required; any additional language is considered a plus
