Insights & Analytics – Associate Consultant, Healthcare & Commercial Analytics

Insights & Analytics

ZS’s Insights & Analytics group partners with clients to design and deliver solutions that help solve complex business challenges through data, analytics, market research, and strategic problem solving. For this opportunity, we are looking for an Associate Consultant with a strong commercial analytics background, ideally within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or broader healthcare industry.

This role is well suited for someone who understands healthcare business questions and can translate them into effective analytical approaches, collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, and turn complex data into a clear narrative and actionable recommendations for clients. Experience working with real-world data (RWD) and market research is highly valued.

What You’ll Do

  • Use commercial and healthcare analytics to solve complex client business questions and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Translate business needs into structured analytical approaches, defining the analyses needed to answer key client questions.
  • Work with large and complex healthcare datasets, with exposure to real-world data strongly preferred.
  • Conduct and oversee analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and implications for clients.
  • Integrate analytical findings with market research and other sources of insight to develop a more complete understanding of business challenges.
  • Synthesize complex analyses into a clear, compelling narrative, connecting the data to actionable business recommendations.
  • Develop client-ready presentations and communicate analytical findings to client stakeholders and ZS teams.
  • Take ownership of analytical workstreams, including planning analyses, monitoring quality, and driving projects toward key milestones.
  • Collaborate effectively with global and offshore teams, providing clear direction and ensuring the quality and consistency of analytical outputs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional project teams and contribute to a collaborative, team-based working environment.
  • Build client relationships and serve as a key point of contact for aspects of projects.
  • Guide and mentor Associates and other junior team members.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong academic record, ideally in a quantitative, analytical, business, economics, healthcare, or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant post-collegiate experience; a PhD may substitute for professional experience.
  • Experience in commercial analytics, healthcare analytics, insights, or analytics-driven consulting.
  • Pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience using analytics to address commercial and strategic business questions, rather than exclusively technical or modeling-focused problems.
  • Familiarity with real-world healthcare data / RWD is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with market research and the ability to incorporate research findings alongside quantitative analytics is a plus.
  • Strong ability to structure an analysis, interpret results, and translate findings into business insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience managing or overseeing analytical work and maintaining strong quality management/quality control across deliverables.
  • Ability to clearly tell a story through data, including building presentations that connect analytical findings to the broader client business question.
  • Experience collaborating across geographically distributed teams, including working with offshore or global analytics teams.
  • Strong client-facing written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workstreams independently while collaborating effectively across a broader project team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, maturity, and personal initiative.
  • Collaborative, client-first mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced consulting environment.

How you’ll grow:

  • Cross-functional skills development & custom learning pathways
  • Milestone training programs aligned to career progression opportunities
  • Internal mobility paths that empower growth via s-curves, individual contribution and role expansions
