Senior Project Manager - Data and Development Services

About Zenzero

Zenzero is one of the UK's fastest-growing technology companies. Named a Top 8 Technology Company at the British Business Awards 2026, recognised by Deloitte as a Best Managed Company, and featured in the Sunday Times Hundred (an annual ranking of the UK's fastest-growing private companies) in both 2025 and 2026, we hold Microsoft Solutions Partner status across all six designations, putting us in the top tier of UK Microsoft partners. The accolades reflect something real: a business that is scaling fast, executing well, and building something that lasts.
We're on a mission to make technology genuinely work for mid-market businesses, covering managed IT, cyber security, cloud, and AI solutions that actually move the needle. The demand is growing, and so are we.
We're also a certified B Corp and Scale Up Award winner. That combination matters to us: high growth and high standards aren't in conflict here. Fast growth, high standards, real impact. If that sounds like your kind of place, keep reading.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data, business applications, automation, integration and software development projects within our Data & Development Services portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, you will combine strong project leadership, commercial control and customer engagement with the technical fluency to challenge assumptions, estimates, dependencies and solution readiness.
Working closely with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, consultants and engineers, you will ensure projects are appropriately scoped, realistically planned, properly resourced and delivered against clear outcomes and acceptance criteria. You will own mobilisation, governance, financial performance, change control, customer communication, delivery recovery and formal closure, while helping to strengthen consistent delivery practices and supporting other Project Managers where required.
Responsibilities

• Lead project mobilisation by reviewing scope, requirements, Statements of Work, estimates, assumptions and commercial commitments before delivery begins.
• Build realistic delivery plans with clear outcomes, deliverables, acceptance criteria, dependencies, resources and achievable baselines, escalating material gaps and recommending further discovery where needed.
• Partner with Solution Architects and Technical Leads to challenge technical assumptions, estimates, sequencing and risks, and to secure appropriate technical ownership, peer review and quality assurance.
• Manage projects against agreed scope, budget and forecast to completion, identifying potential overruns early and driving recovery, re-planning or commercial change before further unplanned effort is incurred.
• Own senior customer and stakeholder communication, establishing clear governance and escalation routes while leading evidence-based conversations about progress, risk, scope, delays, cost, dependencies and acceptance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of consultants, developers, data engineers, application specialists and technical leads, ensuring ownership, capability and seniority are appropriate for the work.
• Drive proportionate governance, project recovery, testing, acceptance, transition and formal closure, capturing lessons learned and improving DDS approaches to discovery, estimating, Statements of Work and delivery control.

• Strong commercial judgement across budgets, forecasting, project margin, risk and change control.
• The ability to understand and constructively challenge technical solutions, requirements, estimates, assumptions, commitments and resourcing, and to recognise when specialist technical assurance is needed.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and managing multiple project dependencies.
• Excellent customer communication, negotiation and expectation management, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear delivery, risk and commercial impacts.
• Sound, evidence-based decision-making, initiative, resilience and a commitment to high standards when priorities shift or delivery challenges arise.

• Experience in an MSP, consultancy or professional-services environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and/or Business Central.
• Understanding of bespoke software development, integrations and data solutions, including experience scoping or delivering Microsoft data and development solutions.
