Join the largest live shopping platform in North America and Europe, Whatnot, as we shape the future of commerce. The Safety XP team focuses on real-time auctions, transactions, and video, ensuring a safe environment for users.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop systems to protect the platform.
- Build and iterate on production algorithms and infrastructures to mitigate risks.
- Monitor the impact of protective systems on trusted users.
- Architect event-driven pipelines for real-time responses to threats.
- Engage in the full development lifecycle from ideation to monitoring.
- Collaborate across teams and provide insights to leadership.
- Stay ahead of emerging abuse patterns and iterate on solutions.
Requirement:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent experience.
- Business intuition and a data-driven mindset.
- Data science or machine-learning experience is a plus.
- Focus on driving user value and deploying simple solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and lead initiatives.
- Familiarity with data warehouses and transformation tools like Snowflake, dbt, Dagster.
