    Description:

    This position will only be filled with a long-term substitute if a qualified candidate is not secured for the regular position OR if the successful applicant for the regular position is unable to assume the position.
    Contract will be terminated upon hire of regularly employed personnel during the 2026 -2027 School Year, if the position is no longer posted due to lack of need, or the 2026-207 School Year concludes.
    This position is for the 2026-2027 School Year only.

    Qualifications:

    • West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate or Long-Term Substitute Permit
    • Certified to teach:   English as a Second Language PK - AD
    • Certified to teach: K-6
    • Complete all required county and WVDE trainings
    • The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities as contained in the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations
    • Additional Minimum Requirements:
      • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.
      • Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
      • Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
      • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.

    Start Date:  September 1, 2026  for the remainder of the 2026-2027 School Year
    Contract Days: Remainder of 200-day contract beginning the 2026-2027 School Year as per code for long-term substitute positions
    Salary: Based on the 2026-2027 salary scale - commensurate with experience and education paid through Title I funds
