We are looking for aย Senior QA Automation Engineerย to take ownership of quality across an end-to-end drawing generation and visualization pipeline. The role covers frontend applications, backend services, asynchronous workflows, databases, automated processing, and generated 2D/3D outputs.
You will work closely with engineering, frontend, algorithm, and domain teams to build robust automated testing frameworks, identify defects across complex systems, and ensure every release meets defined standards for correctness, reliability, performance, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test suites that process large batches of input files and validate generated outputs against expected results.
- Develop integration and API tests for backend services, including file uploads, job orchestration, drawing retrieval, and webhook workflows.
- Build end-to-end browser automation usingย Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Automate critical user journeys such as file uploads, job tracking, drawing review, viewer interactions, and account management.
- Validate database integrity usingย PostgreSQL/RDS, including job metadata, pipeline state transitions, and drawing parameters.
- Test asynchronous, event-driven, and multi-stage workflows to ensure data consistency and reliable state management.
- Stress-test concurrent processing environments and identify RPC failures, process hangs, memory leaks, and reliability issues.
- Validate 2D drawing outputs and 3D viewer rendering using automated checks, golden-file comparisons, snapshots, and structured acceptance criteria.
- Build comprehensive regression suites covering backend functionality, frontend behaviour, and generated drawing outputs.
- Develop reliability metrics and dashboards covering processing success rates, execution times, and failure categories.
- Collaborate with algorithm and frontend teams to define and automate acceptance criteria for new features.
- Develop Python or Go-based test harnesses, batch-processing scripts, and data validation utilities.
- Integrate automated testing intoย CI/CD pipelinesย and ensure tests remain reliable and maintainable.
- Investigate defects across the frontend, backend, database, processing pipeline, and output layers to identify root causes.
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively to accelerate test development, debugging, documentation, and exploration of unfamiliar technologies.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 3+ years of experienceย in software quality assurance, test automation, or QA engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience withย backend/API automation, preferably with Golang or similar backend technologies.
- Practical experience testingย REST APIs, asynchronous workflows, job queues, and distributed systems.
- Strong experience withย Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent browser automation frameworks.
- Proficiency inย Python or Goย for developing automation frameworks, test utilities, and validation scripts.
- Experience writingย SQL queriesย and validating data integrity in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated regression testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex failures across frontend, backend, databases, services, and processing pipelines.
- Strong systems-thinking and analytical skills with the ability to trace defects back to their underlying root cause.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality, reliability, and correctness.
- Experience with performance, stress, or reliability testing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with message queues such asย Kafka or RabbitMQย is an advantage.
- Experience with visual regression testing, snapshots, or validation of graphical outputs is a plus.
- Exposure toย CAD software, CAD file formats, engineering drawings, or 3D visualizationย is highly desirable.
- A Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering background and familiarity withย GD&T, ASME Y14.5, or ISO 1101would be an added advantage.
- Comfortable usingย AI coding and automation toolsย as part of day-to-day engineering workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and domain experts.
