Fullstack Engineer

Walt (formerly Wallet in Telegram) is a Telegram-native all-in-one crypto app, used by tens of millions of people worldwide. Walt provides trading, investing, multi-chain ownership and the rails that connect everyday Telegram users to the broader crypto economy. Walt is built by The Open Platform (TOP), deeply integrated with TON blockchain and operating as part of Telegram's financial ecosystem.

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our Payments team, which owns how money gets into and out of Walt: fiat on-ramp and off-ramp, payment services, and the P2P Market where users trade crypto for local currency directly with each other.

You will work on how people in dozens of countries convert fiat to crypto and back. Every market is different: local payment rails (bank transfers, cards, mobile money, e-wallets), different currencies, different KYC and compliance rules, different fraud patterns and different user expectations about speed and fees.

Your job is to make this feel like one simple product to the user, while the system behind it routes each transaction through the right provider or P2P counterparty for that country.

This is a high-volume, money-moving domain. Correctness, idempotency, reconciliation and observability matter as much as shipping speed.

Responsibilities:

• Build and ship on-ramp and off-ramp flows end to end: the user-facing UI, the backend that orchestrates orders, quotes, limits and settlement, and the integrations with payment providers.

• Integrate and maintain external payment, banking and compliance providers (PSPs, local rails, KYC/AML, fraud scoring) and build the abstractions that let us plug in a new provider or country quickly.

• Develop P2P Market features: order matching, escrow, dispute handling, merchant tooling, and the UX that keeps trades fast and safe.

• Own transaction reliability: idempotent operations, reconciliation with providers, retries, monitoring and alerting on payment flows.

• Take features from idea to production autonomously, including quick MVPs to test demand before building the full version.

• Work in a startup environment with a high level of individual responsibility, remotely or from our offices, alongside a team with deep experience in both crypto and traditional finance.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in a product company.

• Experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.

• Experience with Python. Experience with payment products is strongly preferred: on/off-ramp, PSP or acquiring integrations, P2P or OTC trading, remittances, neobanks or fintech.

• Comfort working with money-moving systems: transactional consistency, idempotency, reconciliation, handling provider failures. Product and customer orientation: you care about conversion, time-to-settle and support load, not only about the code.

• You can hack together quick demo MVPs and build semi-sophisticated systems.

• You prefer the 80/20 principle of doing what is most effective (not a perfectionist).

• B1+ level English.
