Country Manager UK / Prague based

Vilgain makes high-quality food - clean, functional ingredients, no shortcuts, no filler additives.

We're 700+ people across Prague, Brno and London, already selling in 12+ markets across Europe, the UK, the US and beyond. We're on a mission to change how people think about food, and we're growing fast to do it - expanding internationally and building a company where people have a real say in what we make and how we make it, not just a seat at the table.

About the team

You'll be based in Prague, working closely with our central teams across Performance Marketing, CRM, Creative, Product, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive Vilgain's growth in the UK.

You'll report directly to our CEO and take ownership of UK channel and account priorities, marketplace operations, retail negotiations, and local promotions, while collaborating with central teams on pricing, product assortment, brand strategy, and creative execution to ensure they reflect the needs of the UK market.

Your mission 🎯

You'll play a key role in driving Vilgain's growth in the UK, taking ownership of our UK e-shop, marketplaces, B2B retail channels, and overall UK P&L. We're looking for someone who understands the UK market, ideally with experience expanding a Czech or European brand internationally, and knows how to turn market opportunities into sustainable business growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, working closely with our central teams to develop the right local approach. You'll have the opportunity to shape Vilgain's presence in the UK, build strong commercial partnerships, and drive long-term, profitable growth.

What will you do?

• Own UK revenue and contribution margin across e-shop, marketplaces and B2B, build the annual UK plan and run a monthly review with the CEO

• Set UK channel and account priorities: what we sell where, which platforms and retailers come first, and how channels grow without undercutting each other

• Run Amazon UK and other UK marketplaces yourself: listings, content, assortment, promotions, reviews and account health

• Grow the UK e-shop through conversion, merchandising, localisation and SEO, and plan UK launches and promo calendars across online channels

• Lead and develop our B2B Sales Manager: set targets, build account plans and review the pipeline every week

• Own key UK retail and grocery accounts: join the important buyer meetings, negotiate listings and trade terms, and track rate of sale to keep and grow distribution

• Be the voice of the UK market in Prague: brief performance marketing, CRM and creative, work with supply chain on UK stock, and feed UK insight into product and pricing

What do we expect from you?

• Proven experience expanding a Czech or CEE brand into the UK

• 7+ years in commercial or growth roles at consumer brands, ideally food

• Hands-on experience with e-shop and marketplaces, including Amazon UK

• P&L ownership and experience managing at least one person

• Based in Prague, fluent English

• Analytical and hands-on: you turn data into decisions and do the work

• You take ownership and don't need to be chased to finish things

• You make good decisions on your own, without a playbook to follow

• You'd rather get it right than just get it done

Your first 3 months

By the end of your first three months, we expect you to have taken over the UK P&L, Amazon UK and the e-shop day to day. We also expect you to have set targets and account plans with our B2B Sales Manager, met our key UK retail buyers, and presented a UK growth plan to the CEO.

What we offer:

You'll get real ownership from day one, not just a seat at the table. We're a fast-growing, international company where good work gets seen and good decisions carry weight. We're building something that matters, and you'll feel that from your first week.

Sound like you? We'd love to hear from you.
