Software Product Manager

Full Time
IC

$130k - $151k USD/yr

Summary/Objective

Full Swing's software product practice covers the full product lifecycle: writing and driving PRDs, maintaining a living roadmap, and managing the market and competitive research that shapes what gets built next, all grounded in a genuine, hands-on understanding of the game and the software itself. This is an opportunity to help build a new Software Product Center of Excellence: take direct, accountable ownership of unscoped work as the software-side product expert, and establish the roadmap discipline and product judgment the practice needs to scale with the business.

You genuinely know the game and the software cold: the simulation mechanics, the game engine, and the architecture underneath it. You use that depth to make real, defensible product decisions rather than relaying requirements between people who understand the product better than you do.

Primary Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential
functions.

  • Product decisions for the game and software, grounded in real depth in the simulation mechanics, game engine, and architecture.
  • End-to-end PRD ownership, from first draft to shipped release, including unscoped initiatives that need scope, timeline, and resourcing defined from scratch.
  • The Jira discovery board: capturing, triaging, and prioritizing new ideas before they become a PRD.
  • A living product roadmap for your product lines, scientifically sized by scope and level of effort.
  • Scope and prioritization decisions across engineering, QA, and design that hold up under scrutiny.
  • Market and competitive research, understanding customers and the competitive landscape, and turning that into a defensible product direction.
  • Design requirements, review, and sign-off, communicating feature needs clearly and approving design work before it moves into development.
  • Partner and vendor relationship management for integrations and white-labeled products, plus running SIM demos for internal teams, external partners, and prospects.
  • A visible escalation point for customer support issues that need real product judgment, and Go/No-Go readiness input with QA and Release Management.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • 6+ years as a Product Manager inside a software engineering organization, with real ownership of shipped products, not a business-side product, marketing, or program-adjacent background.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity) and simulation or game software architecture, gained from direct experience building or shipping a game or simulation product.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and driving PRDs from an ambiguous, unscoped ask through to a shipped, resourced execution plan.
  • Comfortable owning multiple concurrent, sometimes competing initiatives across related but distinct product surfaces.
  • Enough independent technical command of the product and the software to make and defend scope and prioritization calls with engineering, not just facilitate a conversation between other people's opinions.
  • Experience with market and competitive research methods (customer interviews, sales feedback loops, surveys, competitive site visits) and turning that input into product direction.
  • Excellent written communication, specifically the ability to write a clear, rigorous PRD that engineering, design, and QA can execute against without heavy back-and-forth.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Salary Range: $130,000-$151,000
