Short Summary:
The Principal Firmware (FPGA) Engineer is a senior technical professional responsible for leading the architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verification of firmware systems built on FPGAs. This role requires deep expertise in embedded systems and FPGA logic development, guiding complex projects from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements analysis and derive robust firmware requirements.
- Produce high-quality firmware designs and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the firmware development process.
- Generate inputs for product level design reviews and chair technical reviews.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
- Propose and implement process improvements.
- Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual.
- Undertake the role of firmware lead when requested.

Requirement:
- Degree in an engineering, mathematical, or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple activities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong understanding of risk management principles.
- Proficient in the full life cycle firmware development and VHDL.
- Experience with Xilinx, Lattice, Altera, or Microsemi FPGAs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Must be a British Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DV security clearance.
