Application Integration Team Lead
Location: Remote/Hybrid, anywhere in Canada (Calgary, AB preferred)
Company: A leading construction company in Canada
About Twin Staffing
Twin Staffing is a Canadian staffing partner connecting top talent with leading organizations across the country. We're presenting this opportunity on behalf of our client, one of Canada's leading construction companies, as part of our ongoing work helping them build out their technology team.
About the Role
We're looking for an Application Integration Team Lead to head up our organization's application-to-application (A2A) integration function within the Digital Services – Business Systems group. This is a blended role: part hands-on technical lead, part people manager, part delivery owner — responsible for the integrations that connect systems securely and reliably across our enterprise environment.
You'll own the design, build, support, and ongoing improvement of A2A, API, event-driven, batch, and data integration solutions linking our core business platforms. The goal is straightforward: cut down manual work, improve data accuracy, drive automation, and give the business better information to make decisions with. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Application Services, Data and Automation, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, external vendors, and delivery teams — and you'll be the one setting the integration standards, reusable design patterns, API governance model, monitoring approach, and incident/support processes that everyone else builds on.
As both a technical authority and an escalation point, you'll grow and mentor a strong integration team, making sure everything that gets built is maintainable, secure, and lines up with where the business and its architecture are headed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Shape and maintain a multi-year integration roadmap tied to the company's broader technology and business direction
- Set the standards, governance model, delivery methodology, and support framework for integration work company-wide
- Manage a team of integration developers and analysts — coaching, directing, and staying close to day-to-day delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of A2A integrations built on an enterprise iPaaS platform and supporting third-party connectors
- Put in place reusable integration patterns, API governance across the full lifecycle, coding and testing standards, and consistent error-handling/monitoring practices
- Keep projects on track — managing scope, timelines, and resourcing to hit quality and delivery targets
- Work cross-functionally with teams like National Operations, Finance, People & Culture, PMO, and Data to get projects over the line
- Act as the go-to expert and escalation point for anything involving integration design, performance, security, or reliability on business-critical data flows
- Build strong working relationships with vendors and internal partners, and look for ways to mature and scale the integration function over time
- Coach and develop the team, helping people grow professionally and building depth on the bench
Running the Engine: Governance, Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Own the full integration lifecycle — requirements gathering, design, build, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support
- Define governance standards for APIs: versioning, documentation, and a maintained integration catalog
- Build out monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting frameworks that actually work in production
- Continuously push for better reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability across the integration estate
- Set up support processes, service level targets, and environment management practices
- Lead release and change management, plus production support, for all integration services
What You Bring
- Strong, practical experience with Boomi (Dell Boomi AtomSphere) — this is a significant asset, as Boomi sits at the core of our integration stack
- Direct experience building, deploying, and maintaining integration processes in Boomi, including managing Atoms/runtimes, environment extensions, and process logging
- Experience with Boomi API Management — building web service and API components, and configuring connectors (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Viewpoint/Vista, Workday, plus database and file-based connectors)
- Comfort with Master Data Management / data governance tools (such as Semarchy) and familiarity with construction-industry ERP systems (Vista/TC1, InEight, Coupa)
- Some exposure to Azure Databricks or similar lakehouse/analytics platforms
- Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., Boomi Professional or Architect level)
Nice to Have
- Hands-on Boomi platform experience beyond the basics
- A track record of managing production-grade Boomi integrations, including runtime/environment administration
- Broader Boomi API Management exposure across multiple connector types
- Working knowledge of MDM/data governance tooling and construction-sector ERPs
- Familiarity with modern data lakehouse or analytics platforms
- Industry-recognized integration certifications
How You Work
- You lead collaboratively — developing people rather than just directing them
- You stay steady when priorities shift, and you're good at juggling more than one thing at once
- You take initiative and ask good questions rather than waiting for perfect clarity
- You're detail-oriented, with a genuine focus on quality and reliability
- You keep the end business outcome in mind and bring a service mindset to the work
