BI Analyst & Report Developer

Location: Calgary, AB (100% on-site)

Contract: 6-month initial term, with potential to extend

About the Opportunity

Twin Staffing is partnering with a Calgary-based organization to hire a hands-on BI Analyst & Report Developer for an initial 6-month contract. You’ll build and maintain the analytics solutions the business uses to make decisions, including dashboards, KPI-driven reports and other BI products on the organization’s Qlik Sense platform. The work spans data visualization, data modelling, statistical analysis and gathering business requirements, and you’ll work closely with business units to turn their reporting needs into reliable, well-governed solutions. The role is fully on-site in Calgary.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain Qlik Sense dashboards, KPI-driven reports and optimized QVD layers that perform quickly and reliably.
• Build efficient Qlik data models and write SQL scripts for views, data marts and transformation logic.
• Analyze data structures from Yardi and other source systems, standardize KPI logic and support reporting migration between systems.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for Azure Data Factory, so ETL runs consistently with version control and rollback capability.
• Document data models, KPI logic, workflows and processes in Confluence to support governance and knowledge sharing.
• Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests with tailored dashboards and visualizations that support quick decisions.
• Communicate proactively about data issues, KPI discrepancies and reporting impacts, and keep reporting governed and consistent.
• Work with business units to identify problems and design BI solutions that strengthen reporting.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of experience in BI development, reporting or data analytics.
• Hands-on Qlik Sense development, including dashboard design, data modelling, load scripting and QVD optimization.
• Strong SQL skills, including building views, data marts and transformation logic.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and ETL pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control, ideally GitLab.
• A solid grounding in data visualization best practices and KPI design.
• Experience gathering business requirements and turning them into reporting solutions.
• Clear, proactive communication, with the ability to explain data issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Yardi or other property management or real estate systems.
• Experience supporting a reporting migration between systems.
• Experience with Confluence for documentation and governance.
• Advanced statistical analysis skills.
• Qlik Sense certification (such as Qlik Sense Data Architect or Business Analyst).
