ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Payroll Analyst to join our growing global payroll team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing Brazilian payroll operations end-to-end and working closely with external payroll providers who prepare payrolls across our subsidiaries in Brazil and broader international markets.

Key responsibilities

1. Operations

  • Partner with the People team and relevant internal stakeholders to ensure all payroll-related documentation and employee lifecycle data are accurate and up to date.

  • Coordinate and oversee local Brazilian payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation, as well as proper management of tax filings and local labor compliance.

  • Liaise with external payroll providers across our international entities, ensuring payroll inputs are submitted accurately and on time, reviewing monthly output reports, and managing payment approvals.

2. Payroll Compliance, Accounting & Controls

  • Oversee statutory filings (eSocial, FGTS, INSS, IRRF), social security contributions, and year-end reporting requirements, ensuring strict compliance with local Brazilian labor laws, union agreements, and audit standards.

  • Direct payroll-related journal entries and ensure timely, accurate reconciliation of payroll accounts, funding, accruals, and general ledger balance sheets.

  • Coordinate the payroll treatment of statutory employee benefits, 13th-month salary, vacation pay plus, meal/transport vouchers, and expense reimbursements in alignment with company policies.

3. Track and Optimise KPIs

  • Utilize system data and reporting to track key payroll operational metrics (KPIs).

  • Drive continuous improvement in accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and operational efficiency across payroll workflows.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1+ years in operational payroll, including hands-on experience with Brazilian payroll mechanics (CLT), statutory reporting (eSocial), and managing multi-country third-party payroll providers.

High-Growth Experience: Prior experience in a fast-paced FinTech, technology, or multinational environment is highly desirable.

System Proficiency: Hands-on experience with modern HRIS platforms (e.g., HiBob, Workday) or local Brazilian payroll software (e.g., TOTVS, ADP, Senior) is desirable, but not essential.

Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, high attention to detail, and collaborative working style. Deep knowledge of Brazilian labor legislation (CLT), eSocial regulations, and statutory tax obligations.

Languages: Fluent in English and Portuguese.

At Trustly, we embrace and celebrate diversity of all forms and the value it brings to our employees and customers. We are proud and committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer and believe an open and inclusive environment enables people to do their best work.  All decisions regarding hiring, advancement, and any other aspects of employment are made solely on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
