About the Team:
Finance sits within Global Payment. We build a world-class finance function — financial planning, regulatory capital management, treasury, and accounting — to enable business growth through sound financial stewardship and successful license acquisitions. We are financial risk managers who implement an effective, end-to-end financial control framework. We are also smart business enablers, supporting growth with disciplined capital management and a sound financial strategy.
We are looking for an experienced and pragmatic finance leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our Mexican entity, currently pursuing authorization as an Institución de Fondos de Pago Electrónico (IFPE) under the Ley para Regular las Instituciones de Tecnología Financiera (LRITF).

Responsibilities:
License Application & Business Plan
- Own the development of the financial projections, capital plan, and business model assumptions that anchor the business plan submitted as part of the IFPE authorization application to CNBV/Banxico.
- Model the minimum capital (capital mínimo) requirements applicable to IFPEs, capitalization trajectory, and funding needs across the license application and early operating phases.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Outside Counsel to ensure financial disclosures in the application (origin of capital, shareholder structure, financial projections) are complete, consistent, and audit-ready under Art. 39 LRITF and the CNBV authorization guide.
- Support due diligence on the origin of funds contributed to capital, as required for shareholder and Board disclosures under LRITF.
Regulatory & Governance Responsibilities
- Serve as the IFPE's senior finance point of contact for CNBV and Banxico (joint supervisors of IFPEs) on financial, capital, and accounting matters.
- Own the IFPE's regulatory capital position and ensure ongoing compliance with the minimum capital thresholds and any additional capital requirements set by CNBV/Banxico.
- Coordinate the external audit process (auditor independence, Audit Committee reporting, dictamen de estados financieros) and ensure timely, accurate submission of regulatory financial reports to CNBV/Banxico.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc financial reporting to the Board, Audit Committee (or equivalent), and Senior Management, including capital adequacy, liquidity, and financial performance.
Financial Management & Control Framework
- Build and maintain the IFPE's accounting framework in line with CNBV's Criterios Contables para Instituciones de Fondos de Pago Electrónico, ensuring accurate financial statements (estado de situación financiera, estado de resultados, flujos de efectivo, cambios en el capital contable).
- Own treasury and liquidity management, including the segregation of client funds (recursos de clientes / Fondos de Pago Electrónico) from the IFPE's own resources, per Art. 39, fracción IV and Art. 46 LRITF.
- Design and operate the IFPE's budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including scenario and stress-testing analysis appropriate to an electronic-funds payments business.
- Own financial risk management (liquidity, interest rate, and FX where applicable), including oversight of any Banxico authorization requirements for foreign-currency or virtual-asset operations, and ensure controls are calibrated to the IFPE's balance sheet and product mix.
Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to Senior Management, product, and compliance teams on the financial implications of new products, pricing, and business initiatives.
- Partner with the global Finance organization to ensure local financial practices align with global standards and reporting requirements, while remaining compliant with CNBV/Banxico accounting and capital rules.
- Build strong working relationships with the Board, Audit Committee, external auditors, and regulators to support transparent, well-governed financial management.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the LRITF and its secondary CNBV/Banxico provisions — including capital, accounting, and client-fund segregation requirements — and ensure timely implementation of new regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualification(s)
- Extensive, senior-level finance leadership experience, ideally within a CNBV-regulated financial institution, with strong preference for experience in a regulated payments, e-money/IFPE, or fintech institution.
- Direct experience managing regulatory capital, treasury, and financial reporting obligations within a Mexican regulated financial entity.
- Proven experience building financial projections and business plans as part of a license application or similar regulatory process.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with CNBV, Banxico, and/or external auditors on financial, capital, and accounting matters.
- Strong knowledge of CNBV's Criterios Contables and the minimum capital framework applicable to IFPEs.

Preferred Qualification(s)
- University degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master's or CPA/CFA preferred.
- Direct experience within an authorized IFPE, or prior experience within a Mexican regulatory authority.
- Experience managing segregation and safeguarding of client funds within a payments institution.
- Comfortable operating within a matrixed/dual-reporting structure (global Finance + local governance alignment).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in a complex, fast-moving environment.
