Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor leads an onshore team or offshore platform crew, overseeing continuous, 24/7 asset operations and daily technical maintenance to keep equipment and systems running safely and efficiently. This role supervises and coaches the team to ensure safety, team cohesion, and reliable performance on the assigned asset.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and coach assigned personnel.
• Lead by example and promote best practices for the productive, safe operation of assigned asset(s) in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Oversee daily operations and crew responsibilities.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on Pipelines, Valves, Actuators and related equipment.
• Maintenance, repair, calibration and troubleshooting of electrical and pneumatic equipment and PLC-based safety systems.
• Perform operator and technician services as directed and in accordance with specific project work plan and operating procedures.
• Serve as first-responder to pipeline emergencies.
• Respond to and resolve one-call tickets.
• Review and update station isometric drawings.
• Use proper tools and equipment to perform integrity management and regulatory tasks on pipeline.
• Perform general upkeep and maintenance tasks, safety checks, and inspections of assigned facilities and equipment, e.g., control panels, heater treaters, compressors, tanks, scrubbers on offshore platform.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety and environmental guidelines and requirements when performing job duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

•      Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and weather including heat and cold, wind and humidity with exposure to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system, e.g., fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, poor ventilation.
•      Physical activities of this position include standing or sitting for long hours, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
•      Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines; using measurement devices.
•       Worker may be exposed to a variety of conditions including weather extremes, confined spaces, loud noises, vibration, and potential hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to high heat and chemicals.
•      Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
•      Perform job duties in required PPE including steel toe boots, respirator, hard hat, and other required gear.
•      Boat or helicopter transport required to and from offshore facility.
•      Occasional travel including overnight stays as needed to other work locations and/or offices. Volume varies by work location.
•       Assigned schedule varies by location (14/14, 7/7 rotation) and subject to change by management; overtime and on-call hours as required.
•       Position subject to DOT Pipeline drug/alcohol testing requirements.

      Education and Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Technical schooling in electrical or related field preferred.
• 10 years’ oil and/or gas pipeline with demonstrated knowledge of pipeline regulations with I&E, measurement, Production or related work experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Pipeline experience with pipeline pigging experience.
• Working knowledge of applicable BSEE, PHMSA, USCG, EPA, API requirements and procedures preferred.
• Possess and maintain required certifications for work location, e.g., HUET, TWIC Card, T-2, PHMSA Operator Qualification.
• Driven, self-motivated, and conscientious with a strong work ethic, leadership ability and presence.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English, required.
• Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work cooperatively and effectively with internal and external colleagues.
• Flexible and adaptable team player.
• Ability to work independently, adapt, deal with interruptions, prioritize and complete assignments under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Must be able to travel and work on a call-out basis.
• Must be able to travel and work assigned schedule including overtime, call-out and on call.
