Short Summary:
Tetra Tech is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join their team, focusing on implementing Environment and Safety programs for mine sites regulated under MSHA Part 48.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate safety and health hazards in construction and remediation industries.
- Control hazards through elimination, engineering controls, and work standards.
- Prepare Activity Hazard Analyses and daily Job Safety Analyses.
- Conduct safety briefings and on-site staff training.
- Investigate injuries, illnesses, and incidents; implement emergency procedures.
- Monitor adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Assist with implementing industrial hygiene air quality sampling.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Health Physics, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience, including heavy civil earthwork and environmental remediation projects.
- Minimum 5 years as a dedicated Site Safety Officer or Safety Manager.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- MSHA Part 48 Surface Miner training and knowledge of MSHA regulations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems.
