CPQ Techno Functional Lead
Our Company:
At Teradata, we believe that people thrive when empowered with better information. Teradata Autonomous Knowledge Platform activates enterprise intelligence by unifying data, knowledge and business context to achieve tangible outcomes. With Teradata, organizations can provide agents with full context for impact when it matters. Our solution lets businesses connect and scale on premises, in the cloud, or through a hybrid approach. Teradata delivers real business value with AI.
Who You’ll Work With
Join our Revenue Strategy & Operations Tools and Technology team to work closely with cross functional teams including Product Management, Pricing and Packaging, Product Owners, Information Technology, internal and external SFDC development and operate teams, Deal Desk and Order Management.
What You’ll Do
In this role you will serve as the strategic and technical authority for CPQ at Teradata, owning the New Product Introduction process, Continuous Improvement of the quoting platform, and enterprise transformation programs. You will influence business strategy and anticipate organizational challenges, while staying hands-on with the platform to keep your decisions grounded in technical reality.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Partner with Product Management and Pricing & Packaging as the authoritative CPQ voice on feasibility and best practice — challenging product and pricing decisions where needed, and taking full accountability for delivering the solution.
- Take end-to-end accountability for new product delivery in CPQ — from directing Product Owners on story definition through overseeing dev team outcomes, balancing solution quality against launch deadlines across every NPI cycle.
- Define architectural patterns and design standards for CPQ development. Directly build proofs of concept for novel or complex scenarios where no precedent exists.
- Lead data architecture decisions across CPQ, reporting, and revenue systems. Actively conduct SOQL/SQL analysis, build data mock-ups, and validate data grooms for backfills and fixes.
- Resolve the most complex platform incidents escalated from operational and support teams — drawing on deep CPQ, ERP design, and data warehousing expertise to identify solutions beyond established approaches, proposing process-based workarounds to protect business-critical timelines where needed, defining systemic controls to prevent recurrence, and advising leadership on risk and remediation strategy.
- Own CPQ data integrity at enterprise scale — applying end-to-end process expertise and cross-enterprise data knowledge to define remediation strategies for large-scale backfills and fixes, and directly executing data grooms for the most complex cases.
- Define the scope of change management and enablement work required for each CPQ release — serving as the primary SME for documentation and training teams, and ensuring platform changes are accurately reflected across process, enablement, and release communications.
- Build and interpret complex CPQ performance analyses; present strategic, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Serve as the enterprise authority on CPQ strategy, advising Order Management, Revenue Recognition, and Analytics. Represent Teradata at industry forums, vendor advisory boards, and standards bodies as a recognized external thought leader.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- 15+ years of relevant business or technical experience; minimum 8 years Salesforce CPQ in complex, global enterprise environments with a track record of platform leadership and hands-on proficiency
- Expert knowledge of how CPQ connects to the broader revenue ecosystem, applied in NPI processes — with the business acumen to engage and influence stakeholders across Product, Pricing, Technology, and Finance, and the technical depth to operate credibly in both process and platform discussions
- Act as the CPQ domain advocate in cross-functional and leadership forums — maintaining visibility into business, operational, and market requirements, and influencing platform and process decisions by bringing the CPQ perspective to where organizational decisions are made
- Advanced SOQL and SQL skills, applied hands-on to data analysis, troubleshooting, and decision-making across complex CPQ environments
- Working knowledge of Oracle ERP — including integration with Oracle PDH, Order Management, and RMCS — and how these connect to Salesforce CPQ across the full revenue chain from product configuration through order management and revenue recognition
What You’ll Bring
- Expert-level Salesforce Sales Cloud and CPQ knowledge; active hands-on configuration experience; recognized as a technical authority in the field
- Deep expertise with advanced configurators (Logik.io or equivalent); able to evaluate, prototype, and lead organizational adoption of next-generation CPQ tooling
- Sophisticated analytical and financial acumen; track record of building models and analyses that directly influence business strategy and investment decisions
- Proven ability to define and enforce CPQ data governance policies at enterprise scale, including direct ownership of data quality and remediation frameworks
- Comprehensive understanding of Oracle Order Management, Product Data Hub, Subscription, and RMCS modules; experienced in CPQ-to-downstream integration architecture
- Proficient in Jira and ServiceNow, with experience managing complex CPQ delivery and incident workflows across large, cross-functional programs
- Proactively identifies and resolves complex problems that impact the direction of the business — operating with full autonomy on the most critical assignments
- Recognized thought leader with executive presence; influences senior leadership, drives cross-functional alignment, and represents the function externally at industry events and speaking engagements
- Brings a consultative approach to executive communication — framing complex technical and business topics in terms of options, trade-offs, and recommendations that drive action
- Background in finance, technology, pricing, solutions engineering, or sales operations at a SaaS company; history of shaping platform and process strategy at the organizational level
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing, public cloud architecture, and modern analytics platforms; able to connect CPQ strategy to Teradata’s broader data and AI ecosystem
