The Role
We need a hands-on Tech Lead Elixir/Erlang to own the architecture and scaling of our Core Banking Engine & Payment Infrastructure. You will drive technical execution, set engineering standards, and build a secure, high-performance financial platform designed for global scale.
What You’ll Build & Lead:
• Core Payments Architecture: Architect high-performance APIs and integrate with top UK/EU payment providers, Visa, and Mastercard.
• Card Issuing & Open Banking: Develop and scale core banking features and Open Banking platforms.
• Scale & Security: Design bulletproof infrastructure handling 100,000+ monthly transactions from Day 1, with real-time data pipelines and automated compliance.
• Leadership: Own code quality, CI/CD, production reliability, and collaborate closely with Product, UX, and external partners.
Who You Are:
• Strong experience of commercial development with Elixir/Erlang in Fintech, Payments, or Core Banking.
• Proven track record of building secure, high-load financial systems and payment gateways.
• Experience working with card issuing, Open Banking, or Visa/Mastercard integrations is a massive plus.
• A technical leader who loves complex architectural challenges and mentoring engineers.
