Team8 Stealth Cyber Startup- Software Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our engineering team. We work in Python and TypeScript across the whole product — data pipelines and backend services, APIs and integrations, and the interfaces our users work in every day. We don't split the team into front-end and back-end: you'll take a problem and follow it wherever it leads, and we'll shape the balance around what you're strongest at and what you want to grow into.

This is a role for someone who wants real ownership over what they build — from the first design conversation through to production and the metrics that tell you it's working.

What you will do

• Design and build features end to end in Python and TypeScript — from data model through service layer to the user-facing experience
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations with customer environments and external security tools
• Work with data at scale: ingesting, normalizing, and structuring information from diverse and messy third-party sources
• Turn complex data into interfaces that make a security analyst's job obvious rather than harder
• Take part in architectural decisions and shape how the product and the codebase evolve
• Own your work end to end — design, implementation, testing, rollout, and monitoring
• Work directly with product and design in short cycles, with real users close by

What we're looking for

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and shipping production systems
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript (or strong depth in one and real fluency in the other)
• Solid engineering fundamentals — data modeling, API design, testing, and a feel for what makes systems maintainable
• Experience with cloud environments
• Strong problem-solving skills, a real sense of ownership, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup
• A team player with a big-picture perspective who still sweats the critical details
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with cybersecurity products, vulnerability management, or network security
• Experience building data pipelines or working with large-scale data processing
• Experience with building AI systems or ML/data science systems 
• Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React or similar)
• Experience with high-scale, high-concurrency systems
• Experience at an early-stage startup
