Associate Immigration Attorney (Remote - US, SF - Hybrid)
Salary range: $150K - $185K
Visa Sponsorship Details: Not open to any visas (e.g. US citizen, Green Card holders)
We are looking for an Associate Immigration Attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join as the first attorney hire at a YC-backed startup that's rethinking how immigration law is delivered. You'll own cases end-to-end, run client consultations, and help build the practice alongside a 40-year veteran immigration attorney - all while working with AI-powered tools that are transforming the field.
What will you be doing?
Managing your own caseload of O-1A, EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and H-1B petitions from intake through filing
Running free attorney consultation calls with prospective clients (mostly startup founders and technical talent) to assess visa strategy and fit
Drafting, reviewing, and submitting petitions - handling the full lifecycle rather than just the final review
Learning the "LegalOS way" of creative case-building directly from the Head of Immigration Law, Joseph Asir, and helping codify it into repeatable playbooks
Providing product feedback to the engineering team to shape AI-assisted drafting and review workflows
Key Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in any U.S. state (New York bar is a plus)
1–3 years of business immigration experience, ideally at a large immigration firm like Fragomen, BAL, or a comparable practice
Moldable and not set in their ways — open to learning a creative, client-first approach to case-building rather than defaulting to big-firm playbooks
High agency, entrepreneurial mindset — excited to build at an early-stage startup, not just fill an associate seat
Available to work in-person 5 days a week at the FiDi, San Francisco office
