About the role
As a Technical Sales Consultant (all genders), you will be a strategic sales and advisory professional at the intersection of technology and business. In this challenging B2B role, you will translate complex customer challenges into innovative solution architectures and measurable value propositions.
Your key responsibilities and impact:
- Strategic pre-sales consulting: Guide new and existing customers through the full pre-sales cycle and design tailored solutions based on our Magenta portfolio.
- Solution design and innovation: Analyze business and technology requirements and develop future-ready concepts for cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern network and security solutions (SD-WAN, MPLS).
- Value propositions and pitches: Develop compelling business cases and confidently present technical solutions in customer meetings, pitches and negotiations, including at C-suite level.
- Driving growth: Build lasting customer relationships through a strong customer focus and negotiation skills, and actively drive strategic new business.
What you bring
- Solid pre-sales experience: Several years of experience in technical consulting and solution sales in a B2B environment.
- Cloud architecture expertise: A sound technical understanding of modern platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Network and security technology know-how: Familiarity with modern infrastructure such as SD-WAN and MPLS.
- Strong presentation and pitching skills: The ability to engage decision-makers and confidently present complex value propositions.
- Negotiation and closing skills: A focused, tactical approach to negotiations.
- Strong customer focus: The ability to understand customer challenges precisely and translate them into tailored business cases.
- Fluent language skills: Excellent spoken and written German and English.
The following would be an advantage
- Relevant vendor certifications in cloud (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect) or networking and security (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet)
- Practical experience with professional tender and proposal management (RFP/RFI processes)
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce and modern sales methods (e.g. Value Selling, Solution Selling)
- A basic understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL 4)
- Experience developing business cases, total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments and return on investment (ROI) analyses for enterprise customers
