Software Engineer ATM Surveillance Data Processing
We are hiring a Software Engineer – ATM Surveillance Data Processing to strengthen our client’s team based in Geneva.
You will contribute to the modernization of mission-critical Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems, with a strong focus on surveillance data processing. Working within an Agile and highly regulated environment, you will help transform legacy applications into a modern service-oriented architecture while ensuring high standards of reliability, quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the modernization and decomposition of a large-scale legacy system supporting ATM surveillance operations.

Design, develop and maintain reliable, high-availability back-end solutions using Java and modern software engineering practices.

Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) approaches throughout the development lifecycle.

Build and maintain automated testing solutions, particularly using Java and Cucumber.

Analyse operational and user requirements and translate them into clear software requirements and technical solutions.

Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including software and system requirements, design documentation, test specifications and traceability records.

Participate in verification and validation activities, including test preparation, execution, reporting, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

Support certification, quality and compliance activities while contributing to continuous improvements in engineering processes and automation.

Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Aeronautics or a comparable field.

At least 5 years of professional experience developing complex software systems.

Solid experience with Java, Spring and Maven (MVN).

Previous exposure to regulated or safety-critical environments, along with experience in requirements engineering, verification and validation, and software lifecycle documentation.

Good understanding of Linux, networking and distributed systems.

Experience with Netty, messaging technologies or low-level network communication would be a strong advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate operational needs into robust technical solutions.

Professional fluency in English (minimum C1); French and/or German would be an advantage.
