Reporting to the VP, Marketing, the Director, Inside Sales & Partner Channel role is responsible for developing and executing the strategic sales and growth plan for Residential Customers across Canada and the United States. The role provides leadership to a high-performing Inside Sales organization, driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and market expansion while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. This role establishes sales strategies, performance standards, workforce plans, and operational frameworks that enable sustainable growth and an exceptional customer on-boarding experience. The position works closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Care, and Finance leaders to identify opportunities, improve business performance, and optimize sales effectiveness
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
Develop and execute the national inside sales strategy supporting organizational growth, revenue, and customer acquisition objectives.
Establish annual and multi-year sales plans, targets, forecasts, and performance measures aligned with corporate priorities.
Sales Transformation & Innovation
Lead the modernization of the residential propane sales organization through the adoption of AI, automation, and digital sales technologies.
Continuously evaluate and implement emerging sales technologies, conversation intelligence platforms, predictive analytics, and CRM automation to improve productivity and conversion rates.
Sales Leadership & Performance Management
Create a high-performance coaching culture focused on skill development, accountability, and continuous learning.
Utilize call listening, conversation intelligence, and performance analytics to provide targeted coaching and feedback.
Talent & Organizational Leadership
Act as a change agent capable of building the business case for transformation initiatives and gaining stakeholder buy-in across sales, operations, marketing, customer care, and leadership teams.
Provide overall leadership for workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, employee development, and performance management.
Operational Excellence
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sales processes, workflows, customer journeys, and operational effectiveness.
Ensure the appropriate use of CRM platforms, sales technologies, reporting tools, and customer data to improve decision-making and performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Retention and Pricing teams to develop, execute, and evaluate lead generation, customer acquisition, and promotional initiatives.
Collaborate with Operations, Customer Care, Finance, and other business units to align customer expectations, operational capacity, and business objectives.
Leadership Reporting & Business Planning
Leverage CRM, BI tools, and operational data to drive decision-making and performance improvements.
Develop and monitor KPIs related to lead conversion, call performance, productivity, customer acquisition cost, retention, and revenue growth.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Communications, or a related field.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
7-10 years of relevant experience
Experience implementing and leveraging CRM platforms, sales engagement tools, sales automation technologies, and AI-driven sales solutions.
Strong understanding of how AI can improve lead scoring, forecasting, customer segmentation, coaching, call analysis, and sales productivity.
Advanced knowledge of sales forecasting, pipeline management, performance analytics, CRM systems, and sales enablement practices.
Strong understanding of marketing strategy, customer experience, operational planning, and financial management principles.
Knowledge of workforce planning, organizational development, performance management, and change leadership methodologies.
Broad understanding of industry trends, competitive markets, and factors influencing residential and small commercial customer segments.
Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.
Work Location: Preference is for candidates to be within Eastern or Central time zone within the US. However, we recognize that the right talent can thrive from anywhere. Candidates outside the Eastern/Central portion of the US will be considered for the right fit.
The expected annual base salary range for this role is $130,000 – 140,000 a year.
This position is also eligible for an annual incentive program. This position may be eligible for other annual bonus payout programs.
