Senior Project Data Analytics Solutions Manager
STV is seeking a Project Data Analytics Solutions Manager to join our Project Accounting team. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Project Accounting & Billing Operations, the Project Data Analytics Solutions Manager will lead the development, delivery, and ongoing support of data, reporting, analytics, automation, and IT data self-service solutions for the Project Accounting department.
This position will partner with Project Accounting leadership and users to identify business needs, translate requirements into practical solutions, and improve access to accurate, timely, and actionable project financial information. The Manager will support the department’s use of STV’s enterprise data lake and related reporting environments, including dashboards, operational reports, data quality controls, documentation, user training, and self-service analytics capabilities.
The Project Data Analytics Solutions Manager will serve as a key liaison between Project Accounting and Operations, Finance, Corporate Accounting, Information Technology, and other business and shared-service groups. This role will help ensure that Project Accounting requirements, data definitions, reporting needs, controls, and downstream impacts are understood and incorporated into enterprise data and technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, support, and continuous improvement of Project Accounting dashboards, operational and exception reports, analytical tools, and self-service data capabilities, including Power BI solutions spanning project financial performance, billing, revenue, costs, budgets, profitability, accounts receivable, work in progress, and project lifecycle activity.
- Serve as the primary Project Accounting business partner for data lake and reporting activities by defining business requirements, metrics, calculations, data definitions, business rules, user acceptance criteria, and drill-through reporting needs.
- Build and support reliable data models and reporting controls using enterprise-system and SQL-connected data; evaluate relationships, duplication, completeness, business logic, and downstream impacts; and maintain validation checks, reconciliations, aging analyses, and exception monitoring.
- Identify root causes and downstream impacts of data-quality issues and partner with appropriate owners to implement sustainable corrections.
- Partner with Information Technology, data engineering, enterprise applications, Operations, Finance, Corporate Accounting, project delivery teams, and shared-service groups to translate needs into sustainable solutions, resolve data issues, and support enterprise initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate integration, user acceptance, and business-scenario testing, including test scenarios, expected results, issue tracking, correction validation, implementation readiness, and Project Accounting participation.
- Identify and deliver automation opportunities using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Excel, workflow solutions, AI-enabled tools, and other approved technologies to reduce manual effort, standardize inputs, improve routing and visibility, and strengthen data quality and follow-through.
- Develop training, job aids, documentation, and ongoing user support for Project Analysts, Billers, leaders, and other stakeholders in collaboration with the Project Accounting Strategy and Develop manager
- Gather and prioritize enhancement requests, maintain a coordinated solution roadmap, monitor adoption and effectiveness, communicate status and risks, and recommend actions based on business value, user feedback, data availability, and enterprise priorities.
- Create standardized reporting packages and deliver recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reporting, including KPI tracking, variance analysis, forecasting support, and trend insights for leadership.
- Stay current on data-visualization and analytics best practices and recommend practical enhancements to dashboards, reporting processes, and tools.
- Support enterprise financial and project-management system implementations and perform other responsibilities as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in project accounting, financial operations, billing, project controls, financial reporting, business intelligence, data analytics, or related functions, with strong knowledge of project budgets, revenue, costs, profitability, contracts, reconciliations, performance, and lifecycle activities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex or loosely defined business needs and translate them into practical reporting, analytics, automation, process, or technology solutions.
- Advanced Microsoft Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, KPI development, dashboard design, and financial reporting, plus experience with SQL-connected enterprise data and relational or semantic models.
- Experience with data validation, reconciliations, exception management, integration and user acceptance testing, and business-scenario testing.
- Strong communication, planning, organization, documentation, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across financial, operational, and technical stakeholders.
- Experience developing training and documentation, supporting end users, and driving adoption of new reports, tools, or processes.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, advanced Excel, VBA, workflow automation, or similar digital tools preferred.
- Deltek Vantagepoint or a comparable project-based ERP system; and project management or related professional certification preferred.
- A/E/C industry experience highly preferred

Compensation Range:
