Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with solid SAP project experience to manage IT projects and associated activities within the IT organization. The Project Manager will be responsible for meeting budget, schedule, and performance goals while driving projects through successful completion.
The ideal candidate will have strong IT experience focused on the SDLC and application side of the business, with hands-on project management experience supporting SAP initiatives. HR project experience is a plus but is not required.
This role will lead teams of IT professionals, including internal team members, contractors, vendors, and business partners.
Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple IT projects simultaneously, typically overseeing 3–5 active projects, depending on project size and complexity.

Lead project teams in clearly defining project scope, obtaining cost estimates, developing schedules, and assigning resources.

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and progress tracking.

Facilitate project meetings and maintain meeting minutes, transcripts, and action items.

Maintain RAID logs and proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.

Track project budgets, estimates, resources, and labor requirements.

Manage resource allocation and project staffing needs.

Develop and communicate schedule, budget, and performance estimates.

Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead project teams consisting of IT professionals, contractors, vendors, and internal business partners.

Manage vendors and vendor-related activities for IT projects.

Drive effective utilization of SDLC methodologies for application and infrastructure projects.

Apply both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.

Ensure appropriate documentation and entry of project information into project repositories.

Restate complex technical information in a format appropriate for technical and non-technical audiences.

Identify risks and partner with project team members to develop mitigation strategies.

Promptly communicate project risks, issues, and changes to appropriate stakeholders.

Ensure projects are delivered according to established scope, schedule, budget, and performance expectations.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
-
PMP certification required.
-
Minimum 7 years of project management experience.

Solid Information Technology project management background.

Strong hands-on experience managing SAP projects.

Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Strong understanding of SDLC and IT application/project delivery.

Experience with IT vendor management.

Strong project documentation skills.

Experience with project schedules, milestones, RAID logs, risks, issues, budgets, estimates, and resource allocation.

Strong ability to forecast time, cost, resources, and labor requirements.

Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira, or other project management tools will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting HR-related SAP projects.

Experience within the electric utility or energy industry.

Experience managing large, complex IT application or infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments and application delivery.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Senior IT Project Manager with 7+ years of experience, a PMP certification and bachelor's degree, and strong hands-on SAP project management experience. They should be highly organized and comfortable managing the tactical details of projects—including meeting documentation, schedules, milestones, RAID logs, risks, budgets, estimates, and resource allocation—while also providing leadership across IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
