Job Title: Network & Systems Security Analyst
Location: Lutz, FL – Onsite
Duration: 6 months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM; hours may vary based on workload and project requirements
Job/Role Description:
- Plan, design, implement, and support new and existing network, server, and storage infrastructure based on project requirements, capacity plans, and operational needs
- Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve server, network, and storage-related problems and failures
- Perform technical troubleshooting using the OSI model, coordinate equipment repairs, and escalate complex problems when necessary
- Install and configure server and network hardware and software in accordance with established security standards
- Detect and correct system outages, errors, and performance issues by monitoring systems and modifying configurations as needed
- Support switching, routing, DNS/DHCP, Windows Active Directory, VMware, firewalls, storage area networks, and related infrastructure technologies
- Provide security consulting and technical support for IT infrastructure across firewalls, operating systems, servers, and network devices
- Provide second-level technical support for security systems and authentication mechanisms across multiple operating-system platforms
- Participate directly in the planning, design, maintenance, testing, and documentation of disaster-recovery plans
- Develop technical designs and implementation plans for small infrastructure projects
- Serve as a technical project lead when required and provide technical direction to project-team members
- Consult with internal IT departments, vendor technical specialists, and technology account managers
- Cross-train and mentor less-experienced Network and Systems Security Analysts
- Ensure network security controls comply with applicable IT security policies, standards, and guidelines
- Apply cybersecurity best practices across network, server, storage, and virtualized environments
- Drive operational excellence, build collaborative working relationships, and exercise sound technical judgment
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and adapt effectively to changing technical and business needs
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of six years of hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Windows servers, VMware, storage area networks, firewall technologies, and Cisco networking
- An associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or a related IT discipline combined with at least four years of relevant hands-on experience may be considered
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or a related IT discipline combined with at least three years of relevant hands-on experience may be considered
- High school diploma or GED
- Intermediate knowledge of network or server infrastructure, including the ability to support environments of varying complexity
- Hands-on experience supporting switching, routing, DNS/DHCP, Windows Active Directory, VMware, hardware installation and maintenance, firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices
- Experience troubleshooting network and infrastructure problems using the OSI model
- Experience installing and supporting network, server, and storage hardware and software
- Experience supporting security systems and authentication mechanisms
- At least one associate-level and one senior-level industry certification, such as MCSA, MCSE, VCP, CCNA, CCNP, CEH, GIAC, or CISSP
- Ability to provide technical direction, collaborate across IT teams, and work effectively with external technology vendors
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to pass a NERC-compliant background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or a related IT discipline
- CCNA, VCP, CISSP, or MCSA certification
- Experience serving as a technical project lead or consultant
- Experience mentoring or cross-training junior infrastructure professionals
- SolarWinds experience is a strong plus
- Experience supporting disaster-recovery planning, testing, and documentation
